I haven’t posted for a while in this blog. Apart from the reason that I’m busy at work, another reason is that I’ve also been tinkering with another blogger site.
What made me decide to make a temporary switch?
I thought that since most of my favorite blogs are hosted by that other blogger site, maybe it provides better service to bloggers.
So I gave myself and that site a couple of weeks to get acquainted.
After that, I ran out of patience.
My complaints:
1. Posts don’t get posted right away. Most of the time, I have to wait for a few days before I see my most recent post.
2. Updates to my blog in that other site (new template, new widget, new language, new font) can’t be seen right away. Again, I waited for a couple of days before I finally saw my updated blog.
3. What? No default blog stats? Not even a default hit counter widget?
Usually, I’m a tolerant person. I can handle a few seconds, a few minutes, or even a few hours of delay without smoke coming out of my ears. But a few days before I get to see my most recent post? That’s too much. Being someone who always gets excited when it comes to seeing my article (no matter how trivial or important it might be) on print or on the web, I can’t wait for a few days…
Hmmm, maybe I just need to tweak something in the settings to fix the problem. But I realize that I’m happy with WordPress so why go through all the hassle?
So I’m sticking to WordPress. And since this WordPress blog is going to be my “home on the web” of some sort, I might do a bit of re-organizing over the next few days–a bit of housekeeping, so to speak. I will be re-classifying posts, deleting drafts that I don’t want to publish, and publishing new posts. In fact, there are already a number of things I want to blog about. There’s this new addiction, and this new desire… but those will be for other posts.
